'Living fossil' genus Parrotia(Hamamelidaceae) genomes (PRJCA028609)
收藏资源简介:
'Living fossils' coined by Charles Darwin are testimonies of long-term sustained ecological success and exceptional evolutionary heritage, yet the genetic basis of their prolonged survival and resilience remains to be elucidated at the whole-genome level. Here, we reported the first chromosome-level de novo assembly of the genomes of two Parrotia siblings (P. subaequalis and P. persica), a vicariad Tertiary relict species pair and living fossils. Utilizing two high-quality reference genomes and population resequencing data, we confirmed the sister relationship between P. subaequalis and P. persica based on the phylogeny of 804 homologous nuclear single-copy genes. We further clarified their genomic divergence, climatic adaptation and evolutionary trajectories
