资源简介:
This folder contains figures on sectoral complexity and proximity to complex new growth opportunities for each Federal State of Brazil, created as part of the project “Smart, Inclusive, and Sustainable Growth,” financed by CNPq - Processo n. 406943/2021-4.The top left figure illustrates the spatial distribution of industrial complexity (ICE) in 2019 across each state's microregions. The top right figure ranks the five microregions with the highest and lowest industrial complexity index. The bottom right figure plots the regional industrial complexity indices on the horizontal axis against the proximity of all Brazilian microregions to new complex activities on the vertical axis, highlighting the microregions of the considered Federal State in blue. The figure on the bottom left provides a detailed analysis of economic complexity (ICE) in the microregions, comparing the current ICE (represented by blue nodes) with the expected changes if these microregions transition to the five most related activities (red nodes) or to the five most complex activities ((green nodes) where they currently do not have Revealed Comparative Advantages. Please cite the papers by Cardoso et al. (2024) and Hartmann et al. (2024) on which these figures are based:
CARDOSO, B. H. F.; CATELA, E. Y. S.; VIEGAS, G.; PINHEIRO, F. L.; HARTMANN, D. Export complexity, industrial complexity and regional economic growth in Brazil. Plos One, 2024.HARTMANN, D.; CARDOSO, B.-H.; AREND, M.; CATELA, E. Complexidade setorial e estratégias de diversificação inteligente a nível microregional: o caso de Santa Catarina. Nova Economia, forthcoming.
