Scriptwriter for Andy Warhol | Ai Weiwei multimedia tour

BACKGROUND The major international exhibition Andy Warhol Ai Weiwei featured two of the most significant artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Developed by the NGV and The Andy Warhol Museum, with the participation of Ai Weiwei, the exhibition explored modern and contemporary art, life and cultural politics through the activities of two exemplary figures - one of whom represents twentieth century modernity and the American century, and the other whom represents contemporary life in the twenty-first century, postulated as the Chinese century. Surveying the scope of both artists' careers, the exhibition presented more than 300 works including major new commissions, immersive installations and a wide representation of paintings, sculpture, film, photography, publishing and social media. CONTRIBUTION As researcher and scriptwriter I developed a 12500 word manuscript that formed the script for the exhibition's multimedia guide. The content was peer reviewed by senior curators at the NGV, Ai Weiwei's studio and The Andy Warhol Museum, and the script was narrated by ARIA awarded musician Quan Yeomans. The script required strong art historical knowledge and a commitment to art historical accuracy and a creative approach to the writing of history and delivery of a script that could be engagingly performed. SIGNIFICANCE The project required significant research into the work and legacy of Andy Warhol, set against the context of American modernity and post modernity. The research into Ai Weiwei was especially dynamic given his high profile as a human rights advocate and his fractious relationship with Chinese authorities. Drawing together techniques and approaches from art criticism, documentary filmmaking, scriptwriting, radio and podcast production, the 80 minute work found an audience of more than 17000 through iPod touch devices hired onsite plus downloads from the exhibition microsite where it will remain into the future as a freely available podcast.

贡献
作为研究人员与脚本撰稿人，我创作了一份12500字的文稿，作为本次展览多媒体导览的脚本。该内容经NGV、艾未未工作室与安迪·沃霍尔美术馆的资深策展人同行评审，最终由ARIA获奖音乐人关·约曼斯（Quan Yeomans）录制旁白。本脚本的创作既需具备扎实的艺术史专业功底，恪守艺术史考据的严谨性，又需采用富有创意的历史叙事手法，打造出兼具专业性与感染力的旁白文本。

意义
本项目需围绕美国现代性与后现代性的语境，针对安迪·沃霍尔的创作与遗产展开深度调研。而针对艾未未的研究则因他作为人权倡导者的高关注度，以及与中国官方的紧张关系而极具复杂性。本次时长80分钟的多媒体导览作品，融合艺术批评、纪录片创作、脚本撰写、广播与播客制作的多元手法，通过现场租赁的iPod Touch设备以及展览官方微型网站的下载量，累计触达超17000名受众，且该播客将作为免费资源长期留存于微型网站中。
