METHOD FOR REMOVING BROKEN PROXIMAL FEMORAL NAILS USING EXISTING SCREW HOLE

ABSTRACT The use of intramedullary nailing to treat proximal femoral fractures has increased in recent years. Nail breakage is a rare complication of intramedullary nailing of the femur, and generally occurs at the non-united fracture site. Removal of the distal fragment of a broken nail is a challenging problem. In this article, the authors describe the methods used to remove strongly fixed broken intramedullary nails. Level of Evidence IV; Case series.摘要 近年来，髓内钉固定术（intramedullary nailing）治疗股骨近端骨折（proximal femoral fractures）的应用愈发广泛。髓内钉断裂（nail breakage）是股骨髓内钉固定术后较为少见的并发症，通常发生于骨折不愈合部位。取出断裂髓内钉的远端骨块（distal fragment）是一项极具挑战性的临床难题。本文详述了用于取出牢固嵌顿的断裂髓内钉的手术方法。证据等级：IV级；研究类型：病例系列研究。
