Radar data collected in the northern Gulf of Mexico, Mobile Bay river plume, April 4-10, 2016

Data was collected on board the R/V Pelican during Leg 2 of the 2016 spring campaign (April 4-10, 2016) in the vicinity of the Mobile Bay river plume in the northern Gulf of Mexico. River plume fronts were observed on multiple occasions. There was also a wind event which drastically changed stratification. Data in this collection: X-Band Radar tuned to detect fronts; data collected simultaneously in other collections: shipboard flow-through, shipboard navigation, and shipboard meteorological (GRIIDC dataset R4.x260.000:0020); ADCP (GRIIDC dataset R4.x260.000:0010); CTD (74 casts) (GRIIDC dataset R4.x260.000:0018); Chameleon microstructure (~4000 casts) (GRIIDC dataset R4.x260.000:0019); Biosonics acoustics (GRIIDC dataset R4.x260.000:0022); SST; and a bow temperature/salinity chain.

本数据集采集于2016年春季航次第二航段（2016年4月4日至10日），采集工作由“鹈鹕号”（R/V Pelican）科考船在墨西哥湾北部莫比尔湾河羽流（river plume）附近海域开展。本次航次多次观测到河羽流锋面，且遭遇了显著改变海水层结的强风事件。本数据集包含调谐用于探测锋面的X波段雷达（X-Band Radar）数据；同期在其他数据集组中采集的数据包括：船载流水采样、船载导航与船载气象数据（对应GRIIDC数据集R4.x260.000:0020）；声学多普勒流速剖面仪（ADCP）数据（对应GRIIDC数据集R4.x260.000:0010）；74个站位测量的温盐深仪（CTD）数据（对应GRIIDC数据集R4.x260.000:0018）；约4000个站位测量的“变色龙”微结构剖面仪（Chameleon microstructure）数据（对应GRIIDC数据集R4.x260.000:0019）；Biosonics声学探测数据（对应GRIIDC数据集R4.x260.000:0022）；海表温度（SST）数据；以及船首温盐监测链（bow temperature/salinity chain）数据。
