The Screening Values for CECs in Puget Sound were derived as described in Gefell et al. (2019). Limitations of these are as described by Gefell to include:<br>The SVs are not regulatory values.The SVs are not absolute thresholds of toxicity.The freshwater SVs are applicable to freshwater fish, only and marine SVs to marine fish; relevance to other taxa is unknown.The SVs are applicable for chronic or long-term repeated exposure scenarios, only; relevance to acute exposures is unknownThe SVs are relevant to aqueous exposures, only; SVs do not account for trophic intake.SVs are best compared to concentrations in dissolved phase in surface water samples, not total concentrations.Hazard due to CECs with relatively high logKow values will likely be underestimated compared to CECs with low logKow values.Gefell, D.
