This deposit contains the comparative database and the analysis code underlying Figures 4, 5, 8 and 9 of the article "Reconsidering the Cypriot Late Epipalaeolithic: two-scale mobility and environmental knowledge acquisition" by Mehmet Özerenler, Sorin Hermon, Juan José Ibáñez and Alan H. Simmons, submitted to the Journal of Paleolithic Archaeology. CONTENTS geometric_microlith_analysis/ — the comparative database of geometric-microlith and lunate frequencies for 32 Late Epipalaeolithic and related assemblages from Cyprus, Anatolia, the north-eastern Aegean and the Levant (Book1.xlsx, with CSV exports), the Python code that produces Figures 8 and 9, and a standalone reference list giving the published site report behind every value. palaeocoastline_and_intervisibility/ — the Python code for the −70 m palaeo-coastline reconstruction of the Cyprus–Anatolia sector (Figure 4) and for the Cyprus–Anatolia intervisibility profile (Figure 5), together with the sensitivity and audit scripts reported in the article's Materials and Methods. methodology/ — full method descriptions documenting the provenance of every parameter used by the code, including the uncertainty budget for the palaeo-coastline reconstruction and the parameter-by-parameter sensitivity analysis for the intervisibility model. REPRODUCIBILITY Re-running the code reproduces the values reported in the article: a shortest Cyprus–mainland distance of 60.5 km at a −70 m sea-level surface, varying by less than 1 km across a ±10 m uncertainty envelope; a geometric-microlith frequency of 1.5 per cent at Akrotiri-Aetokremnos against a mainland range of 4.6–65.8 per cent; and apparent angular sizes of 53.5 arcmin (Kyrenia Range) and 78.9 arcmin (Central Taurus) against a 3-arcmin detection threshold. Tested with Python 3.9 (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, pandas, openpyxl, rasterio, Cartopy). The EMODnet DTM 2024 and SRTM (CGIAR-CSI v4) elevation datasets are not redistributed here; they are openly available from their providers, and the README documents which products are required and which file paths must be edited. The deposit covers only those figures that rest on data or code. Figures 1–3 are microscope photographs, Figure 6 is a schematic, and Figure 7 comprises original artefact drawings; none has an underlying dataset. Table 1 is compiled from published sources cited in the article. Data are released under CC BY 4.0 and code under the MIT Licence. The compiled frequencies are measured values taken from previously published site reports; users should cite both this deposit and the original reports, which are listed in full in the accompanying reference list.
