Interactions between nutrient levels and fluctuations shape soil microbial legacies and mediate non-native plant growth (PRJCA039218)

We performed a two-phase plant-soil feedback experiment. In phase I, we conditioned the soil using six native plant assemblages which were exposed to two nutrient magnitudes (Low vs. High) and two nutrient fluctuations (Constant vs. Pulsed) and measured soil microbes at the end of phase I. In phase II, we tested the responses of ten non-native plant species individually with soil inocula created in phased I.
