Dataset and analysis code for remote calibrated infrared thermography in fattening lambs

This repository contains the anonymised processed dataset, original working spreadsheet and statistical analysis code associated with the manuscript “Head surface temperature measured by remote infrared thermography predicts rectal temperature in fattening lambs”. The dataset includes thermal and physiological measurements from 50 fattening lambs assessed at six capture distances: 0.2, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 m. Rectal temperature was measured once per animal using a digital rectal thermometer and used as the reference temperature. Infrared thermal images were acquired at each distance and processed to extract the mean surface temperature of the visible head region. Each row in the processed dataset corresponds to one thermal observation from one lamb at one capture distance. The dataset contains 300 rows, corresponding to 50 lambs measured at six distances. The experimental unit is the individual lamb. Repeated observations across distances are observational units nested within lamb and should not be treated as independent experimental units. Two versions of the processed dataset are provided: processed_dataset_anonymised.csv, recommended for reuse, and datos_corderos.xlsx, the original working spreadsheet used by the analysis scripts. Raw thermal images are not included because of file size and project data governance constraints. Original thermal images and associated metadata are archived by the research group and may be made available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request, subject to reasonable data-use conditions.本仓库包含与学术论文《基于远程红外热成像技术（remote infrared thermography）测量的头部表面温度可预测育肥羔羊（fattening lambs）直肠温度》相关的匿名化处理数据集（anonymised processed dataset）、原始工作电子表格（original working spreadsheet）及统计分析代码（statistical analysis code）。 该数据集涵盖了在6种拍摄距离（capture distances）下对50只育肥羔羊采集的热学与生理学测量数据（thermal and physiological measurements）。研究人员使用数字直肠温度计（digital rectal thermometer）为每只动物测量一次直肠温度，以此作为参考温度（reference temperature）。在每个拍摄距离下采集红外热成像图像（infrared thermal images），并通过图像处理提取可见头部区域（visible head region）的平均表面温度（mean surface temperature）。 处理后的数据集每一行对应单只羔羊在单次拍摄距离下的一项热学观测数据。该数据集共包含300行数据，对应50只羔羊在6种拍摄距离下的全部测量结果。本研究的实验单元（experimental unit）为单只羔羊，不同拍摄距离下的重复观测（repeated observations）属于嵌套于羔羊个体内的观测单元（observational units），不应被视为独立实验单元。 本次提供了两个版本的处理后数据集：推荐复用的processed_dataset_anonymised.csv，以及供分析脚本使用的原始工作电子表格datos_corderos.xlsx。 由于文件体积与项目数据管理规范限制，未包含原始热成像图像。原始热成像图像及相关元数据（metadata）由研究团队存档，若符合合理数据使用条件，可通过通讯作者（corresponding author）提出合理请求获取。
