CpG methylation detection with nanopore sequencing

We used the Cas9 -targeted nanopore sequencing protocol to enrich for ten forensically relevant regions and sequence the native genomic DNA from a human cell line (NA12878) using the Oxford Nanopore Technologies' MinION sequencer. We used the reads in the target regions to assess the CpG methylation content with six different computational tools for modified base detection. We then compared these tools against the whole-genome bisulfite sequencing data.
