Political Action of Corporate Social Responsibility (PAROL)

The project 'Political Action of Corporate Social Responsibility' (PAROL) investigated how non-governmental organizations and business firms organize collective action in multi-stakeholder initiatives to mobilize support for regulatory change and how they form perceptions and take decisions on political activity. In order to address this question the project carried out a grounded and real-time study of the multi-stakeholder coalition for a CSR law, #ykkösketjuun, consisting of a broad coalition of Finnish NGOs, labor unions, and business firms. The project also compared the organization of the Finnish campaign to similar CSR law campaigns and coalitions abroad, notably in France and the Netherlands. The proposed project makes scientific contributions to the political CSR literature.
