VPRS 470 Writs of Dedimus Potestatum

Writs of Dedimus Potestatum empower the person to whom it is directed to administer the oath of allegiance and to administer a judicial oath to a person newly appointed as a Justice of the Peace.This series contains Writs returned to the Supreme Court after the swearing had taken place. Each Writ has a statement of the authority for the Writ, the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office (as a Justice of the Peace) signed by the person sworn in and a Certification of the administration of the oaths by the person for whom the Writ was sworn.VPRS 470/P was reserialised in 2001 as part of the ARAD Project. The former unit 4 is now registered as VPRS 12691/P1 unit 1.VPRS 470 / P1 was formerly registered as VPRS 10009 Depositions of Justices of the Peace.
