Bibliografia przekładów w czasopismach „Robotnik” oraz „Wiadomości Literackie”

The dataset lists translations published in the Polish interwar periodicals Robotnik and Wiadomości Literackie. The data were obtained chiefly from three printed sources: 1) O. S. Czarnik, Ideowe i literackie wybory „Robotnika” w latach 1918-1939, Warszawa: Biblioteka Narodowa 1996 (Zestawienie IV: Powieści w odcinkach. Spis alfabetyczny według nazwisk autorów, pp. 384-389); 2) M. Toporowski, Wiadomości Literackie 1924–1933. Zestawienie treści – indeks ilustracyj, pseudonimy i kryptonimy, Warszawa: nakł. „Wiadomości Literackich” 1939 (Rozdz. 3: Utwory literackie, pp. 164–173); 3) A. Czachowski (oprac.), „Wiadomości Literackie” 1934–1939. Bibliografia zawartości, Wrocław—Warszawa—Kraków: Ossolineum 1999. The dataset consists of 5 spreadsheets documenting the data collection and elaboration process: 1) A bibliography of literary translations (including non-fiction) in Robotnik, compiled and elaborated by Joanna Sobesto based on Czarnik 1996 and her own bibliographic research; 2) A bibliography of literary translations in Wiadomości Literackie 1924–1933, compiled by Zuzanna Rusiecka based on Toporowski 1939 and revised/elaborated by Zofia Ziemann; 3) A bibliography of translations in Wiadomości Literackie 1934–1939, compiled by Zofia Strzyż based on Czachowski 1999; 4) A bibliography of literary translations (including non-fiction) in Wiadomości Literackie 1934–1939 compiled by Zofia Strzyż based on Czachowski 1999 and revised/elaborated by Zofia Ziemann; 5) A bibliography of literary translations (excluding non-fiction) in Wiadomości Literackie 1924–1939, compiled by Zuzanna Rusiecka based on Toporowski1939 and Zofia Strzyż based on Czachowski 1999 and revised/elaborated by Zofia Ziemann. The spreadsheets contain the following categories: Title; Author; Translator; Year Published; Bibliographic Details (volume/issue/page), Source Language; Genre; Author Gender; Translator Gender. The language of the dataset is Polish. The purpose of the dataset was the analysis of the presence of translation content in the two periodicals, with a particular focus on literary translations. The results of the analysis are presented in the related publication.
