Sampling data captured in Oceanic Exploration Research Pursuant to Section 10, Appendix II of the Contract for Exploration between the International Seabed Authority and the Government of the Republic of Korea (ISBA/7/C/4), the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (MLTM) that is the relevant authority of the Government of the Republic of Korea hereby submits to the International Seabed Authority the annual report on the exploration activities in 2012 conducted in accordance with Paragraph 5, Schedule 2 on the Programme of Activities of the Contract for Exploration. The Contractor had performed the geological and geophysical survey with sampling of sediments and nodules, the marine environmental baseline survey in and around the contract area focused on the potential benthic impact experiment and reference sites, and research and development works on mining and processing technologies as a part of its exploration activities in 2012.

本数据集为依据《国际海底管理局与大韩民国政府勘探合同》（文档编号ISBA/7/C/4）附录二第10条开展的海洋勘探研究中获取的采样数据。韩国国土海洋部（Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs，MLTM）作为大韩民国政府的主管部门，特此向国际海底管理局提交2012年度勘探活动年度报告，该报告严格遵循《勘探合同活动计划》附表2第5款的规定。2012年，合同承包方开展的勘探活动涵盖以下内容：在合同区域及周边开展沉积物与结核采样的地质地球物理调查、围绕潜在底栖影响实验与参照站点实施的海洋环境基线调查，以及作为勘探活动组成部分的采矿与加工技术研发工作。
