Dataset includes deidentified data from trial participants (emergency service workers; N = 880) who were allocated to use the Build Back Better mental health app (intervention group) or a mood/activity tracking app (control group). Data were collected at baseline (T0), 1-month post-baseline (T1) and 3-month post-baseline (T2). Baseline data (T0) includes participant demographics, employment characteristics, and mental-health help-seeking. Repeated measures data (T0, T1 & T2) includes psychological distress (K10 – primary outcome), depressive symptoms (PHQ-9), anxiety symptoms (GAD-7), wellbeing (WHO-5), coping self-efficacy (CSE-T), post-traumatic stress (PTSD-8), quality of life (AQoL-4d), resilience (CD-RISC-10), work performance (HPQ), alcohol use (AUDIT-C). T1 also includes quantitative data regarding app user experience.
