1. Effects of new technologies:
expected effects on life of respondent;
assessment of influence of new technologies on daily life,
access to information, available leisure time, safety, accident risk,
work in or on house, family and social relations and crime in 5 to 10 years;
assessment who profits most from the Internet;
new technologies as means to reduce social inequality,
cultural and education differences, number of people socially excluded;
new technologies as possibility for political participation,
access to political representatives and public services and
new possibilities of election participation and expression of opinion;
misgivings about voting online;
arrisal of new ethical questions from new technologies.
2. Working world and social things:
expected changes in the working world regarding occupational further education,
work stress, change of occupation, working hours and start of pension;
assessment of influence of new technologies on situation in job market;
necessity of computer knowledge in the job search, at work and
adequate acquisition in school (scale);
attitude to acceptance of costs of computer schooling
by beneficiary or government;
work satisfaction regarding income, job security, activity exercised,
working hours and commuting times to place of work;
frequency of change of job in the last 5 years and
similarity of job requirements in the current and previous job;
reasons for change of occupation or not;
necessity of acquisition of new skills for occupational future and
reasons for this;
participation in measures for further education and
reasons for non-participation.
3. Mobility:
moving frequency in the last 10 years and destination of move;
reasons for last move and for not moving;
intent to move in the next 5 years, destination and reasons to move;
preference not to move and to remain unemployed or to move for a new job;
expected improvement in job perspectives from moving and
most important reasons for moving;
readiness to move to a country with a foreign language;
evaluation of proportion of foreigners in one's country.
4. Attitude to the handicapped:
knowledge and contacts with persons whose daily life life is impacted
by a permanent illness or disability;
sense of well-being of respondent in the presence of the handicapped;
judgement on handicapped access of the blind, deaf,
physically and mentally handicapped to public transportation,
government offices, restaurants, hotels, places of training,
place of work, sport and culture events;
perceived improvement in handicapped access to public institutions
in the last few years and institutions having or that should have
the responsibility for this;
personal knowledge of various types of disability;
estimate of percentage of handicapped in the population;
approval of some statements on integration of handicapped in society (scale);
sense of well-being of respondent if a person in a wheel-chair
were to play a certain role in his life
e.g. as doctor, superior, neighbor, colleague, sales person, politician,
artist or teacher.
Demography:
nationality;
age;
sex;
size of household;
children in household;
age at termination of education;
employment;
occupation last exercised;
household income;
possession of a telephone.
Also encoded was:
date of interview;
start of interview;
length of interview;
presence of further persons during interview;
willingness of respondent to cooperate;
