The Free-play Sandbox Dataset was developed by the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom, focusing on research into social interactions between children and robots as well as peer interactions among children. This dataset contains interaction records from 120 children aged 4 to 8 years old, with a total duration of over 45 hours. It was collected in a sandbox-style free-play environment, where children conduct unconstrained interactions via touchscreens. This dataset aims to address the problem of how to evaluate and understand naturally occurring social interactions between children and robots, providing rich multimodal data for deep learning and social signal processing algorithms.
