Overview of the Extended Reality Continuum for Immersive Learning Experiences

The Extended Reality Continuum is composed of:<br>Augmented Reality (AR)- central experience being the real world, supplemented by superimposed digital information achieved either through a handheld screen or a head mounted display (HMD)<br>Mixed Reality (MR)- Real and virtual worlds are intertwined such that users are able to interact with objects in both the real and virtual worlds<br>Augmented virtuality- central experience being the virtual world, supplemented by information from real world objects<br>Virtual Reality (VR)- fully immersive artificial environment where users have no sense of the real world
