Millcreek Municipal Boundary

This feature layer represents the municipal boundary of Millcreek, Utah. The boundary was extracted from the statewide Utah Municipal Boundaries feature layer published through ArcGIS Online. The source municipal boundary dataset is maintained by the Utah Geospatial Resource Center / Automated Geographic Reference Center, with boundary changes and updates informed by state, county, and local entities. The source dataset is intended for cartography, administrative mapping, and approximate municipal boundary identification. Boundary changes are generally based on certification through the Lieutenant Governor’s Office and information submitted by city and county recorder offices. This Millcreek boundary layer may be used to support city mapping applications, public information tools, planning analysis, capital project mapping, service area visualization, public works workflows, reporting, and general municipal GIS operations. This layer is intended for general reference and administrative mapping purposes only. It should not be used as a substitute for a legal boundary survey, annexation document, recorded plat, ordinance, or other official legal record. Users requiring official municipal boundary determinations should verify information with the appropriate city, county, or state records. Update: August 14th, 2023 - Fixing Metadata / Attribution. This is a queried and extracted polygon from the UGRC statewide Utah Municipal Boundary Data. This dataset is for cartographic purposes and approximate boundary location. All changes and updates are via certification by the Lt. Governor's Office using data from City and County Recorders. The most recent addtions to Millcreek are the Murray Holliday Road Annexation; 2300 E Roundabout and Woodland Ave. Changes and updates are through certification by the Lt. Governor’s Office sent in by City and County Recorders offices. Boundary updates are occasionally accepted from local GIS departments when older (pre 2007) relevant boundary change information was not received through required channels. All features are adjusted to the current Geographic Coordinate Database (GCDB) points. Data developed with coordinate geometry (COGO) from legal descriptions were used. When necessary the data was adjusted to conform to known physical features. This dataset does not represent exact legal boundaries, but, rather a set of boundaries used for the administrative purposes that conforms to logical and administrative rules (e.g. no two cities or redevelopment areas may cover the same geographic extent).
