Disaggregated Input-Output Model for Assessing the Macroeconomic Impacts of Family Farming in Brazil

This is a national input-output (IO) model disaggregated by family and non-family farming sectors, estimated using the 2017 IO matrix by NEREUS and data from the 2017 Brazilian Agricultural Census. It segments agricultural production into six categories: family and non-family agriculture, livestock, and forest/fishery, totaling 29 sectors. This disaggregation enables the estimation of sector-specific impacts on GDP and employment. The IO model assumes fixed technical coefficients and prices, allowing us to isolate the direct and indirect economic effects of changes in PNAE procurement. This methodological advancement offers a new tool for analyzing the economic role of family farming in Brazil.
