Replication Data for: SOSTENIBILIDAD, DIGITALIZACION E INNOVACION: NUEVOS RETOS EN EL DERECHO DEL SEGURO

The impact of artificial intelligence on the insurance sector has been studied based on the analysis of: the Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee, and the Committee of the Regions dated April 8, 2019; the Report issued by its Expert Group on April 3, 2019; and the European Parliament Resolution of October 20, 2020 on ethical aspects of artificial intelligence, robotics, and related technologies. This analysis has made it possible to develop regulatory proposals to provide legal certainty for the use of artificial intelligence and personal data (consumer and user information), with the aim of incorporating them into the negotiation process. Law 7/2020, of November 13, on the digital transformation of the financial system has been examined, specifically its application in the insurance sector based on customer protection, its impact on competition law as a potential entry barrier for new operators, and the coverage of cyber risk by insurance entities. This data support findings of the project about life settlement accetpance and chatbot acceptance in the Spanish Insurance Market.
