Optimal current tracking performance is crucial for the control of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs). In this study, an innovative discrete model-free predictive current control (MFPCC) method is proposed to address the challenges presented by flux-weakening (FW) and low-frequency ratio (LFR) conditions, which limit the conventional MFPCC's applicability in the high-speed range. Specifically, a discrete current predictive model (CPM) is utilized for current prediction and output voltage calculation, along with a discretely designed disturbance observer and an inductance compensation method to ensure precision and stability across a wide speed range. Furthermore, the discrete CPM facilitates the derivation of the current reachable region (CRR), upon which the dynamic CRR-FW adjustment method is proposed to enhance controllability during transient conditions. The proposed method improves stability and dynamic performance under LFR and FW conditions at high speeds, without requiring precise model parameter knowledge. The effectiveness and feasibility are verified by the experimental results.
