Eight pollen and seventeen flotation samples were collected from
features at seven archaeological sites along the shores of Jackson Lake,
Wyoming. These sites are located in areas supporting primarily coniferous
timber surrounding Jackson Lake. Lodgepole pine and fir make up most of
this timbered community, while the understory currently exhibits large
pioneer plant communities as a result of the disturbance caused by
fluctuations in the level of Jackson Lake. These sites range in age from
Paleo-Indian to Late Prehistoric. 80th the pollen and macrofloral
(flotation) samples were collected from features in an effort to obtain data
concerning the floral portion of the subsistence base at these sites.
