A comparison of genomic sequences of tlr3 derived from old world and new world primate species, consisting of black snub-nosed monkey (Rhinopithecus bieti), drill (Mandrillus leucophaeus), olive baboon (Papio anubis), vervet-AGM (Chlorocebus sabaeus), sooty mangabey (Cercocebus atys), Bolivian squirrel monkey (Saimiri boliviensis boliviensis), Ma's night monkey (Aotus nancymaae), white-tufted-ear marmoset (Callithrix jacchus), and bamboo lemur (Hapalemur griseus), alongside the Tarsier (Carlito syrichta) outgroup. This dataset was used to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the antiviral response to Zika virus seen in these primate species. The comparison reveals similarities and differences in the genomic sequences, providing valuable insights into the evolution of primate immune systems. The figure underscores the importance of genomic studies for unraveling the complex interplay between viruses and their host's immune systems.
