Seahorse from a fountain in Taormina

This little seahorse, is one of the four horses situated at the four corners of the fountain in Piazza Duomo, Taormina. The fountain, with drinkable water coming of the horses' mouths, is very famous amongst the people of the place. Many people stop by and drink from the fountain every day, it is almost a tradition! The fountain was built in 1635 and realised in Sicilian baroque style. The statue on top of the fountain, is the symbol of the city of Taormina, a centaur with woman's bust.这尊小巧的海马造型雕塑，是陶尔米纳大教堂广场（Piazza Duomo, Taormina）喷泉四角的四尊马形雕塑之一。该喷泉以从马形雕塑口中涌出的可直饮净水闻名当地，深受本地民众青睐。每日皆有大量访客驻足取水饮用，这已然成为当地近乎约定俗成的传统。 该喷泉于1635年建成，采用西西里巴洛克风格打造。喷泉顶部的雕塑为女性上半身半人马造型，是陶尔米纳市的城市象征。
