资源简介:
Numerical simulations of water waves passing over a rectangle-like obstacle are proposed. The objective is to investigate the vanishing viscosity limit and shed light on possible separation of the bottom boundary layer. The present data have been generated through numerical simulations of the two-dimensional free-surface incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The Finite Element Method has been implemented using the FreeFEM c++ library. A thorough description of the method is available in the associated publication. The chosen initial condition is irrotational in order to compare the numerical solution with the one of Euler's equation computed numerically with the dipole method. It is observed that a water wave a non-negligible height can effectively destabilize the bottom boundary layer in a singular manner. This compromises the vanishing viscosity limit.
