Gnetum, a gymnosperm genus, is widely used in dietary, industrial and medicinal aspects. Previous studies show that the development of male strobili in Gnetum is closely linked to varied levels of endogenous plant hormone and insect pollination. However, underlying molecular mechanisms that determine the sexual identify and the male strobilus development are not yet well studied. To understand these mechanisms, nine full-length trasncriptome that cover three developmental stages of male strobili in G. luofuense were sequenced using Oxford Nanopore Technologies .
