Derwent Estuary Recreational Water Quality monitoring program - Howrah East

Howrah East monitoring site is collected as part of the Derwent Beach Watch program. Derwent Beach Watch is a collaborative program between councils and state government that tests water quality at 18 swimming sites around the estuary during summer months.
Water samples are collected each Tuesday from the start of December to the end of March and analysed for the faecal indicator bacteria Enterococci (Enteralert method) at the Public health Lab. Because the samples must be cultured, it takes several days to publish the results.

豪拉东监测站点的水样采集工作，系德文特海滩观察计划（Derwent Beach Watch Program）的组成部分。该计划由地方议会与州政府联合开展，于夏季对河口周边18处游泳水域的水质进行检测。
研究人员于每年12月初至3月末的每周二采集水样，并在公共卫生实验室（Public Health Lab）中采用Enteralert检测法，针对粪便指示菌肠球菌（Enterococci）完成分析。由于水样需进行细菌培养，因此检测结果需耗时数日后方可发布。
