Collecting information and identification of Vilesida ord․ nov․

The dataset provides information on the material used for proposing Vilesida ord. nov. (Porifera: Demospongiae), to reassign Petromica and Axinyssa to the new order, to reinstate Viles as type genus of Vilesidae fam. nov., and to introduce Murus gen. nov. with three species: M. hirondellei comb. nov., M. profunda sp. nov., and M. sinenotis sp. nov. The dataset contains combined morphological, molecular, and chemical data to clarify sponge phylogeny and biomarkers.
