The purpose of the dataset C. elegans muscle aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of muscles. Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 8 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.本数据集为C. elegans（秀丽隐杆线虫）肌肉衰老数据集，其核心目标是基于肌肉图像推断该线虫的个体年龄。研究人员采集了不同实足年龄下的C. elegans肌肉图像，本次展示的图像属于第8天数据集的一部分。需注意，即便个体为遗传同源的C. elegans，由于个体间存在生理差异，其形态学年龄与实足年龄并非完全相关。本数据集的来源为遗传学实验室（Laboratory of Genetics）、美国国家衰老研究所（NIA，National Institute on Aging）与美国国立卫生研究院（NIH，National Institutes of Health）。
