Emotional movement kinematics guide twelve-month-olds’ visual, but not manual, exploration

The data, analysis scripts and stimuli used in the paper:

The data were obtained in an experimental study with infants and include eye tracking data, and behavioural data coded from video recordings of the testing sessions. The infants first watched videos of actors transporting a toy in a positive emotional manner or a negative emotional manner. The eye tracking data and the coded looking data were recorded in this phase. Then, the infants were given an opportunity to play with the toys and their looking and touching behaviour was coded from the recordings. The analysis scripts include the scripts used for preprocessing in Python (KinEx_first_processing.py and KinEx_correlation_processing.py), for descriptive statistics in Python (KinEx_desc.py), analysis scripts in R (KinEx_analysis_prop.R, KinEx_correlation.R, KinEx_first_touch_freq.R, and KinEx_first_touch_look.R), and a script to make the figures used in the paper in R (KinEx_plots.R). The stimuli folder includes the stimuli videos used in the study and stimuli information (stimuli.csv).
