Data_Solution-Focused Group in People with SCI

<b>Study design</b>: A pre-post study<b>Objective</b>: Conduct a pilot study of the solution-focused group therapy (SFGT) on pain management for people with spinal cord injury (SCI).<b>Setting</b>: Medical and rehabilitation centers in Taiwan. <b>Method</b>: 26 people with SCI and neuropathic pain join SFGT, once a week 90 minutes for 6 weeks, to achieve pain management goals of accepting pain and committing their new-life goals according to their successful experience.Using 6 scales to be the pre-post testing, include pain intensity (0-10 numeric rating scale), brief pain inventory-pain inference, chronic pain self-efficacy scale, pain fear (0-10 numeric rating scale), depression (patient health questionnaire-9), demoralization (demoralization scale), post-traumatic growth inventory and life quality (WHOQOL-BREF). <b>Results</b>: The pain intensity perceived by participants was significantly reduced from the intervention according to the mean (95% CI) reduction in pain from pre to post assessment was -1.12/10 points (5.35 to 4.23). And the pain self-efficacy significantly improved on the mean (95% CI) increase in pain self-efficacy from pre to post assessment was +11/130 points (57.5 to 68.5).
