Background: The role of LncRNA SNHG25 has been studied in some tumor types but the correlation between SNHG25 and PCA remains unknown.
Methods: The relationship between clinicopathologic characteristics and SNHG25 expression was evaluated using the data from TCGA database. Binary classifier value of SNHG25 was calculated by AUC score from ROC curves. The efficacy of prognosis of SNHG25 was evaluated through Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression analysis. GSEA and immune infiltration analysis were carried out to recognize the potential functions of SNHG25.
Results: SNHG25 expression was significantly increased in PCA and correlated with age, primary therapy outcome, N stage, Gleason score and residual tumor (p<0.05). ROC curve demonstrated the strong ability of diagnosis and prognosis of SNHG25 (AUC=0.923). A higher SNHG25 expression forecasted a shorter PFI (p<0.001) and Cox regression result indicated SNHG25 expression as an independent risk factor of PFI (p=0.028). SNHG25 expression was found mainly associated with cell metabolism of mRNA and proteins and some kinds of immune infiltrating cells through GSEA and immune infiltration analysis.
Conclusions: SNHG25 expression was obviously increased in PCA while negatively associated with PFI and immune infiltrations, and it can be a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in PCA.
