3D Bullet and Cartridge Cases Scans from Cadre, Quantum, and Evofinder Imaging Systems

The database consists of 3D images of bullet and cartridge cases acquired by 3D instruments manufactured by Cadre (TopMatch), Leeds (Evofinder), and LeadsOnline (Quantum). The same set of bullets and cartridge cases were imaged using each of the 3D systems.These data may be useful to anyone requiring access to a database of bullet and cartridge case 3D images for the purposes of research, training, or instrument validation, and where ground truth (provenance of each scan in the dataset) is known. In particular, individuals with an interest in forensic science, image analysis, statistics, or machine learning might find the data useful because the firearm that fired each bullet and cartridge case is known, scans were obtained with a variety of instruments, and gun, caliber and type of ammunition were controlled.本数据库包含由Cadre（TopMatch）、Leeds（Evofinder）及LeadsOnline（Quantum）三家厂商生产的三维扫描设备采集的弹头与弹壳三维图像。同一批次的弹头与弹壳经全部三款三维扫描系统分别完成成像。本数据集适用于所有需要弹头与弹壳三维图像数据库以开展研究、模型训练或设备验证的人员，且其基准真值（ground truth，即数据集中每一次扫描的来源溯源）均为已知。具体而言，对法医学、图像分析、统计学或机器学习领域感兴趣的研究者可从本数据集中获益：该数据集已知每枚弹头与弹壳对应的发射枪械，采用多类设备完成扫描，且枪械型号、弹药口径与弹药类型均为可控变量。
