Dataset of building exposure distribution produced within the framework of the Horizon Europe GOBEYOND Project

The dataset represents the distribution of residential buildings at the resolution of 30 arcsec, for the 27 member states of the European Union and neighboring state (neighbouring states (Albania, Andorra, Bosnia-and-Herzegovina, Iceland, Kosovo, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia, Turkey, United Kingdom).
It has been assembled by performing a spatial disaggregation of the EFEHR Exposure model, based on the built-up area density (Global Human Settlement Layer , JRC).
Building types are distributed into 44 macro-taxonomy groups, which describe features related to the main structural system, the height range and the application of a seismic code level.
Each 30-arcsec cell is associated with an ID representing the Local Administrative Unit it belongs to, allowing to represent the building distributions at the level of municipalities.
A GIS layer representing the Local Administrative Units used is also provided with the dataset.

The dataset contains 3 files:
- readme.txt: describing the contents and data fields;
- Residential_buildings_exposure_EU.csv: csv file containing the distribution of building types and population in 30-arcsec cells;
- LAU_EU.rar: GIS vector layer of Local Administrative Units in Europe, in case the 30-arsec cells have to be aggregated at the municipal level.
