This marble relief depicts Rodin's lover, Camille Claudel. The woman first met Rodin as her assistant. During the 1880's, Rodin hired a team of expert assistants to work alongside him in the office. Camille was one of Rodin's assistants, she helped him in some of his most difficult pieces, that period was intense and she had the opportunity to learn a lot from Rodin himself. While Rodin thought his art to the young artist, he not only recognized her incredible talent but also fell in love with her.
