Simulated and satellite data

The archived files include approximately 60,000 simulated aerosol optical-property samples generated for the development, training, and evaluation of LidAR-ESM; the processed CALIOP aerosol profiles used in the wildfire-smoke case studies The original CALIPSO observations were obtained from the NASA Langley Atmospheric Science Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center. The CALIPSO Lidar Level 2 Aerosol Profile product, Version 4-51 (CAL_LID_L2_05kmAPro-Standard-V4-51), was used. The original simulated data, documentation, and processing outputs produced by the authors are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. The underlying NASA CALIPSO/CALIOP source data remain subject to NASA’s applicable data-use and citation terms.
