The distance between a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and the sea-ice underside was measured by a single-beam upward-looking acoustic sonar altimeter (Tritech PA500) attached to the ROV during the Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) expedition between November 2019 and September 2020. Sea-ice draft was derived by subtracting the distance to the sea-ice underside from the ROV depth, uncorrected for ROV attitude (pitch, roll). An offset between the depth reference (ROV bumper bars) and the altimeter of 0.105 m is accounted for in the presented data.

2019年11月至2020年9月的北极气候研究多学科漂流观测站(Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate, MOSAiC)科考任务期间,搭载于遥控水下机器人(Remotely Operated Vehicle, ROV)的单波束向上指向声学声呐高度计(single-beam upward-looking acoustic sonar altimeter, Tritech PA500),对该遥控水下机器人与海冰下表面之间的距离开展了测量。本研究通过从遥控水下机器人的实测深度中减去上述海冰下表面距离,推导得到海冰吃水深度,该推导过程未对遥控水下机器人的姿态(俯仰、横滚)进行校正。本次展示的数据已计入深度基准(遥控水下机器人防撞杆)与声呐高度计之间0.105米的安装偏移量。
