Mass Spectrometry Analysis of Protonated Marine Natural Product Seriniquinone

Seriniquinone is a natural quinone isolated from a rare marine bacterium of the genus Serinicoccus. This secondary metabolite has been shown to have anticancer properties, which has raised attention of the scientific community. In this short report, we present the first investigation of the gas-phase chemistry fragmentation reactions of seriniquinone in electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (ESI-MS/MS), to be further applied in pharmacokinetics and metabolism studies. All the proposals herein were supported by computational chemistry.沙尼醌（Seriniquinone）是一种天然醌（quinone）类化合物，从稀有海洋喜盐球菌属（Serinicoccus）细菌中分离得到。该次生代谢产物已被证实具有抗癌活性，由此引发了科学界的广泛关注。在本短篇研究报告中，我们首次针对沙尼醌在电喷雾电离串联质谱（electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry, ESI-MS/MS）中的气相化学碎裂反应开展研究，该成果后续将应用于药物代谢动力学与代谢研究。本报告中的所有裂解反应推测均得到了计算化学的支持。
