Provided are: a biodegradable moulded article having a higher strength than that of， for example， one that is formed of conventional wood pulp; and a production method for the biodegradable moulded article. The biodegradable moulded article according to the present invention contains pulp derived from palm empty fruit bunch. The biodegradable moulded article according to the present invention may further contain wood-derived pulp. In addition， the production method for the biodegradable moulded article according to the present invention includes a step for forming a moulded article having a predetermined shape from a liquid dispersion in which pulp derived from palm empty fruit bunch is dispersed.
