STRUCTURAL-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF THE CATEGORY OF PLACE IN MODERN ENGLISH AND UZBEKISTAN

This article analyzes the methods of expression of the category of location (locativity) in modern English and Uzbek languages based on a comparative-linguistic and linguocognitive approach. The study identifies the expression of the category of location through grammatical, lexical and syntactic means, and reveals similarities and differences between both languages. The results show that while prepositions are the main means in English, in Uzbek, declension suffixes play a leading role.本文基于比较语言学与语言认知（linguocognitive）的研究方法，对现代英语与乌兹别克语中的位置范畴（locativity）表达手段展开分析。本研究厘清了通过语法、词汇及句法手段实现位置范畴表达的具体方式，并揭示了两种语言在该范畴上的异同。研究结果表明，英语中介词（prepositions）是位置范畴表达的主要手段，而乌兹别克语则以变格后缀（declension suffixes）占据主导地位。
