Isolation of Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria from the Grapevine Rhizosphere

Undergraduates and Master's Students at University of the Pacific isolated these microbes in a Medical Microbiology course using antibiotic disk diffusion under various additional constraints. Isolates were then sequenced using Nanopore single molecule sequencing. Because the coverage of the genomes was high and the accuracy of this sequencing approach has improved greatly, these assemblies are complete and highly reliable.
