Transcriptomic alterations in cardiac ventricles of rats from a PTSD model.

People who are diagnosed with PTSD are at an increased risk of myocardial infarction and cardiac arrhythmias. We've previously shown in a rat model of PTSD that animal stressing is associated with myocardial hypersensitivity. In this study, we evaluated cardiac ventricular tissue from 5 control and 5 stressed hearts to determine baseline gene expression alterations that predispose rats to increased myocardial ischemia.
