Masters Dissertation Summary: A comparative live-trapping study was made in a cutover forest area at 6400 feet elevation, seven miles north of Truckee, California. Different methods of trapping and analysis of data were evaluated, and observations of population size and structure and movement patterns of each species were compared. The species included the chipmunks Eutamias amoenus and E. speciosus, the golden-mantled ground squirrel Citellus lateralis, and the deer mouse Peromyscus maniculatus.
