Novel Gene Targets of the Transcription Factor SOX9

SOX9 is a crucial gene that helps determine male sex development and the formation of testes. Variations in SOX9 can lead to differences in sex development (DSD). In my PhD, I explored the role of SOX9 in sex development, identifying possible genes it controls, such as Tyro3, which may contribute to DSDs. I also looked at how SOX9 affects cell survival and growth, with experiments showing its vital role in these processes. Additionally KAT6B, a possible regulator of SOX9, was investigated for its effects during testis development. Overall, my research provides new insights into the biology of sex development and DSD diagnosis.
