CLAPE: Multilingual Physiological Learning Engagement Dataset for Webcam-Based Pupillometry and Temporal Engagement Analysis

The CLAPE dataset is a multilingual multimodal dataset developed for physiological student engagement analysis in online learning environments. The dataset integrates cultural, academic, behavioral, psychological, and physiological attributes, including webcam-based pupil dilation measurements derived from video-based monitoring. The dataset was collected from 34 participants during structured Hindi-language and English-language instructional sessions conducted under controlled experimental conditions. The repository includes the original validated dataset and a TVAE-augmented synthetic dataset generated for scalable machine learning and engagement modeling experiments. The dataset contains participant metadata, cultural and psychological variables, academic indicators, behavioral features, and physiological pupil variation measurements organized in standardized machine-readable formats with associated metadata and documentation. The CLAPE dataset supports research in physiological learning analytics, educational artificial intelligence, multimodal engagement analysis, cognitive modeling, and online learning systems. All participant information has been anonymized for research purposes.
