ProUni Scholar students performance in Enade: Structural Equations Modeling

Abstract This study aimed to investigate the performance in the National Students Exam–Enade of students with scholarships ProUni (“University for all” Programme), with grants of the education institutions themselves and students with other types of scholarships, and also to investigate, through the Structural Equation Modeling, whether this performance is maintained under the conditions of freshmen and seniors. We used a database containing the results of 401,117 students who took the Enade exam in 2006, which is composed both of the General Formation and the Specific Knowledge tests. The same structural equation model was used to analyse the database of freshmen and seniors students. The obtained results indicated that the measurement model of the scholar students concerning the Enade grades provides a reasonably good fit and allows us to say that the student’s performance through graduation is poorer than the moment of their admission to College.
摘要:本研究旨在探究获得全民大学计划(ProUni,全称"University for all" Programme)奖学金、高等教育机构自身助学金及其他类型奖学金的学生,在全国学生学业评估考试(Enade)中的表现;同时借助结构方程模型(Structural Equation Modeling),分析该表现在新生与高年级学生群体中是否保持稳定。本研究使用了2006年参加Enade考试的401,117名学生的成绩数据库,该考试由通用素养测试与专业知识测试两部分组成。我们采用同一结构方程模型分别对新生与高年级学生的数据库开展分析。研究结果表明,针对获奖学金学生的Enade成绩构建的测量模型拟合度较为良好,由此可得出结论:学生在毕业阶段的表现相较于入学时有所下滑。
