Field Questions for December 2024

This set of questions was used during fieldwork conducted in September 2023 in the Garam Chashma Valley. The research focuses on the traditional process of making Chitrali Shu, a handwoven woollen fabric central to the region’s cultural identity and heritage. These questions served as guiding prompts for interviews and observational sessions related to wool processing. The resulting data offers valuable insights into the environmental conditions, seasonal rhythms, tool usage, and the transmission of knowledge across generations—all of which are integral to the continuity of Shu making in the region.本套问卷应用于2023年9月在加拉姆查什马谷（Garam Chashma Valley）开展的田野调查工作。本次研究聚焦于奇特拉利舒（Chitrali Shu）的传统织造工艺——该织物为手工织造的毛纺面料，是该地区文化身份与文化遗产的核心组成部分。本套问卷作为羊毛加工相关访谈与观察调研环节的引导提示素材，所获数据可为我们深入洞察当地的环境条件、季节节律、工具使用方式及代际知识传承体系提供宝贵支撑，而上述要素均是维系该地区奇特拉利舒织物织造技艺存续的核心条件。
