LIFE NARRATIVES OF SETTLERS IN THE ARINOS VALLEY PROJECT

ABSTRACT This text deals with the colonization, agrarian reform and rural settlement projects in Mato Grosso. Thus, the main objective was to use the life stories and narratives of the participants in the research on the Arinos Valley Settlement Project to understand their feelings upon arriving at the settlement, their individual and collective life experiences, the dreams, struggles and challenges they underwent in their pursuit of possession of their lot of land in the context of rural settlement. The study is based on the assumptions of the qualitative research method associated with the life stories and narratives of twelve settlers; the selection criterion was that they were the original inhabitants of the settlement. The research data indicate that the narratives expressed in the settler's voices show, on the one hand, their satisfaction and joy regarding the opportunity to fulfill their dream of achieving their own lots of land to guarantee family production. On the other hand, that there are also problems inherent in the neglect and / or lack of commitment of the public authorities, which have not provided the settlers with the basic infrastructure recommended in agrarian reform policies for rural settlements.摘要 本研究聚焦巴西马托格罗索州（Mato Grosso）的殖民化进程、土地改革及农村定居项目。本研究的核心目标为，借助阿里诺斯谷定居项目（Arinos Valley Settlement Project）参与者的生平故事与口述叙事，探析他们抵达定居点时的心境、个体与集体生活经历，以及在农村定居语境下为争取自有土地份额所历经的梦想、抗争与挑战。本研究依托质性研究方法的理论预设，结合12名定居者的生平叙事与口述资料；研究选取标准为：受访者均为该定居点的原始居民。研究数据显示，定居者口述所传递的叙事内容，一方面展现出他们对实现自有土地份额以保障家庭生产之梦想的满足与喜悦；另一方面也揭示出公共部门存在的懈怠与/或履职不足问题——相关主体未按照农村定居土地改革政策的要求，为定居者提供配套的基础公共设施。
