Mus musculus thymoma whole genome sequencing

Errors in V(D)J recombination are known to contribute to the development of lymphoid neoplasms. We performed whole genome sequencing of 9 thymic lymphomas spontaneously arising in p53-deficient mice bearing either wild-type or C-terminally truncated RAG2, known to accelerate lymphomagenesis. Analysis of rearrangement junctions identifies widespread ectopic rearrangements mediated by recombination signal-like sequences as the primary mechanism of RAG1/2-induced oncogenic rearrangements.
